Blogging just for the sake of mere blogging can be a great fun. You can write almost everything you want. You can put any kind of content as you wish. But when you set up a blog for the intention of making serious money online, it would be a very different story. Of course, you can still have all the fun while trying to earn some cash with your blogging fever.
Most blogging beginners, after attending some kind of seminars about online marketing where blogging is emphasized as an easy way to make money on the internet, often make the mistake of starting a blog and then writing topics which are not really that profitable. To be able to be successful in making money with blogging, you can’t just start a blog and then write about anything that you see under the sun.
If you’re planning to start a blog with the intention of earning money online with adsense, then it would be very important to find profitable niches most especially if you plan to monetize the blog using adsense.
Great examples for Adsense lucrative niches include health, technology, stocks, finance, and make money (of course). These are actually called “evergreen” niches meaning the demand for information for them will never become obsolete.
Now, these are very broad and very competitive niches meaning it is almost impossible to rank for them. But you can drill down and pick some sub-niches.
For example you can blog about “anti-aging” or “bad breathe cures” for the health niche, “computer and laptop repair” for the technology niche, “options trading course” for the stocks niche, “borrow money” or “cash advance” for the finance niche, and “affiliate marketing” for the make money niche. The list goes on and on but the point here is you should find those hot niches that will really make you money.
Well, you don’t need to be confined with these kinds of profitable niches especially if it’s out of your passion. Many blogging gurus advice that you should start writing about the things you know and which you are passionate about, however, I find this approach impractical in many ways.
If you are more comfortable writing and blogging about your life, your opinions, your political insights, your daily observations and everything under the sun then you could still find some ways to monetize it.
However, this kind of blogging is often become profitable only when you reach that “celebrity status” in the blogging world. This means that your blog should be able to attract thousands of readers and followers as well.
Only then can you be able to monetize the blog using private advertisements and banner placements.
Nevertheless, attaining the “celebrity status” in the world of blogging is not that easy at all especially when you’re not really that gifted in writing entertaining and intellectual articles.
I see many blogging beginners try to write something about what they observe this morning with only one or two sentence and they expect that readers will come and rave about what they wrote. When I visit the newly created blog it just don’t pique my interest.
Well, make money blogging can be really profitable and enjoyable at the same time. But just like other income generating methods in the actual world, it needs some kind of preparation and careful planning to avoid wasting your time, effort, and resources.
