Blogging as a Form of Personal Expression

While there are different reasons a person may want to start a blog, some bloggers begin blogging as a form of personal expression. As we have mentioned in the previous blog post blogging can be used for a variety of other purposes such as making money online, promoting a cause, providing useful information, and staying in touch with family and friends.

When you begin blogging as a way to express yourself, you can write poetry, songs, short stories or simply views and musings about things you see in your environment. You can even use the blog to vent about personal events in your life or write your views on some controversial topics such as politics.

As a blogger you may wish to keep your blog private or you can make it available and can be read by the public.

Keeping the blog private is sort of like keeping a diary or a journal. It gives you a multi-media form of expressing yourself without the risk of others discovering your true feelings, innermost dreams or frustrations, and even best kept secrets that you may have included in your blog entries.

For a number of different reasons, other bloggers choose to make their blogs readable to the public. One reason is they simply want to share their thoughts and feelings. Sharing their feelings with others allows the blogger to reach others who may have the same interest.

If you chose to use your blog as a form of personal expression, you may want to be cautious and consider the decision to make the blog public. This is important because you may initially not see problems with allowing others to view your personal thoughts.

These problems may involve things like exposing your own privacy, or your blog could become offensive to others which may result with some person flaming you through the blog comments section.

Making your private blog public could also result in some kind of problems if friends or family members view the blog especially if you have mentioned some negative things about a particular family event, concerns, and issues.
